Preparing our pupils to be successful global citizens and for their time after Lancing is an important part of our work at the College. The Lancing My Future programme is a vital part of the Sixth Form, complementing academic studies and preparing students to leave the College as confident, aspiring, and self-aware young people. Sixth Form pupils also benefit from a new Leaving Lancing Programme, which is developed in conjunction with pupils and aims to address those skills that ensure pupils are able to flourish independently. The programme features workshops and advice on personal finance, car maintenance, cooking, and making the most of a gap year, among other essential skills.

Lancing College aims to enrich and extend the learning of all pupils in accordance with the SEN code of practice and recent JCQ legislation. The ethos of the school is to promote learning potential and emotional well-being. We recognise that children learn at different rates and have individual needs; our aim is to empower pupils to fulfil their goals. There is a variety of support available which can be tailored to suit individual needs. To learn more, please visit our website.

CO-CURRICULAR

Lancing College opened its new Equestrian Centre in Spring 2017, located on the College grounds, just a short walk from the school’s main buildings. The Centre offers riding for all abilities and stabling for up to twenty horses. In addition to the stables, there is also a 40m x 20m all-weather arena and bridleway access to superb riding in the South Downs National Park. Across the year, students have the chance to partake in over 20 different sports including Cricket, Football, Tennis, and Shooting. For a full list of the sports available, please visit our website.

Music and Drama are available to study at A Level, and many Sixth Form pupils continue their love of these subjects to complement other academic study through co-curricular options and the termly House and School-wide performances. The school welcomes and actively encourages involvement from all pupils, from beginners to those pupils wanting to develop and hone their skills.

Lancing College offers co-curricular opportunities for all student interests. From Entrepreneur Club, introduced in 2023, where students can start their own small businesses with the support of staff, to Electronics where students can design and build their own robots – there truly is something for everyone. Learn an additional language, debate politics and world issues, or hone your cooking skills! For a full list of co-curricular activities available, please visit our website.

Among our 120 co-curricular activities, there are several that focus on a service element, and provide students with an opportunity to give back to their communities. These include the Combined Cadet Force (CCF), Scouts, and the Duke of Edinburgh Award.

The Lancing College Farm provides a unique hands-on learning experience for students, especially those wishing to study Biology, Geography, Veterinary Science, and Business at university. Pupils learn about modern farming methods as well as traditional activities such as hedge-laying, coppicing, green woodworking, and animal husbandry thanks to our small family of sheep, pigs, chickens, and goats.
